Bamboo is a special plant, or rather grass: it is the fastest growing plant in the world. In a sunny spot, bamboo can grow up to a meter a day! As a raw material for textiles, bamboo has been on the rise in recent years, since the development of an efficient production process in 2001 by Beijing University. Bamboo fabrics are increasingly being used by brands as an environmentally friendly alternative to cotton. Bamboo clothing feels soft and supple and is also antibacterial, UV-resistant and breathable. Due to these unique qualities, bamboo fabrics are very suitable for wearing close to the skin. Because of the wearing comfort, they are often used for T-shirts, nightwear and underwear.
