Transparent effect
Ausbrenner is a textile technique that is applied to blended fabrics. In other words: fabrics that are composed of a combination of natural and synthetic fibres. By printing the fabric with a chemical paste, you dissolve the vegetable fibers locally. Certain parts of the fabric become (semi) transparent, so that a beautiful pattern becomes visible. The design is thus created by partially etching or burning the natural material away, this is done by screen printing or by machine. In addition to fashion fabrics, ausbrenner designs are also very popular for curtain fabrics, because the translucent effect allows the light to enter playfully.
