Fab Four
Meet the young brother of the Chelsea boot: the Beatle boot. In the sixties, ankle boots with inserts came back in style, named after the British band that made this type of boot famous. The 'Fab Four’ – a nickname that The Beatles already acquired in the sixties – wore them under their nehru suits. Other artists followed their example. Beatle boots have a tight fit, with a pointed nose and are usually made of leather. The shoe is provided with elastic sides or a zipper. Another characteristic feature is the stitching of the central seam that runs over the shoe, from ankle to toe. The difference with a Chelsea boat is the Cuban heel, which was added as a result of the influence of flamenco boots.
