Bullet bra

Underwear

Sweater girls
It is one of the most iconic bras in the world: the Jean-Paul Gaultier bustier with conical cups. Madonna wore the controversial design over wide pinstriped men's trousers on her Blond Ambition Tour in 1990. She made a powerful statement: why shouldn't women wear undergarments as outerwear? In 2012, the corset went under the hammer at London auction house Christie's for 60,000 euros. In the 1940s and 1950s, bullet bra's were worn by Hollywood stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield and Jane Russell. They were also called sweater girls, because torpedo-shaped breasts look best under a tight sweater. Women sometimes filled the pointed cups with cotton wool or tissues.
