Cocktail dresses, Prom dresses, wedding dresses, ball gowns, red carpet dresses. A party starts with choosing the perfect dress – and that party dress has to pop! It is not without reason that for fashion designers, party wear is the icing on the cake, because they can indulge themselves with luxurious fabrics, rich embroidery and sequins. Dresses that shine or flow definitely have an edge. For inspiration, think of the sparkly, ultra-tight dress in which Marilyn Monroe wore Happy Birthday, Mr. President sang for President John F. Kennedy, Princess Diana's 'John Travolta dress' and the full-screen Versace ruffled dress worn by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City.
