Thanks Coco
How should we survive the cold months without this ultimate essential? Man, woman, old, young; in a good sweater you can live all winter. Not a tickly sweater, but one that feels soft on the skin and keeps the body warm. According to Stella Ruhe, writer of the book ‘Dutch Traditional Ganseys’ we wear sweaters only since 1875. Fishermen discovered the modern garment in England. Before, knitwear was used only for underwear and accessories such as beanies, socks, scarves and gloves. Thanks to Coco Chanel, who was inspired by Breton fishermen's sweaters in the 1920s, wearing a sweater as outerwear became commonplace.
